A sustainability firm that came out of engineering
CNF Engineering and Sustainability Services measures the carbon, water and energy performance of industrial operations, and runs the work that improves it. A life cycle view and process engineering sit at the centre of everything we do.
Why we exist
The gap between producing a number and lowering it
Most sustainability consulting is built around declaration and reporting. The calculation is run, the report is delivered, the file is closed. The organisation is left holding a number without knowing which process step produced it or how it would come down.
CNF works in that gap. We build an emissions, water or energy model, then use the same model to show where consumption concentrates and to compare reduction options on technical feasibility and capital cost.
Doing that depends on understanding the process while the data is being collected. That our team comes from engineering, and from the process side, is therefore not a detail. It is the work itself.
Team
A team that came off the shop floor
The people running these engagements come from engineering and from production. Chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines work on the same project.
The founding team came from industrial water treatment, chemical production and process engineering. Having carried production and operations responsibility before moving into consulting is what tells you where to look on site.

These are not marketing lines. They are rules we hold to at the proposal stage and at delivery.

Every figure shows its source
For each number we report, the data it came from, the factor applied and the assumption behind it can be traced. Estimated items are reported as estimates.

The person who quotes the job runs it
Senior people are on site. Technical decisions are not delegated; whoever sits in the meeting is whoever builds the model.

Scope is fixed at the start
What is in and what is out is written down in the first session. If the scope genuinely has to widen later, we raise it rather than adding it quietly.

Capability stays with you
By the end of a project the organisation knows how the work was built and can run the next period with its own people. Permanent consulting dependency is not the aim.

Where we are
Based in Istanbul, working across borders
CNF is based in Ümraniye, on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Most of our engagements involve manufacturers in Türkiye and the European customers, importers and programme operators they report to.
Site work is carried out in Turkish where the plant is in Türkiye. Models, reports and working sessions are delivered in English wherever the audience needs them to be, which in practice means most export related work.
